I can’t believe Christmas is actually over. It felt like we had such a long build up and now it’s over. Working in retail, Christmas starts after Black Friday. Now everyone has gone back to work and all the kids are back at school it’s officially over and back to normal.

I thought I would update you on what I got up to over the festive period. Unfortunately I was suffering with a cold most of December so couldn’t really enjoy much festivities.

The tree went up! I was off so I decided to help. I then got told I was doing it wrong so I decided to just spectate. I then decided to make my own Christmas decorations, which nobody liked. Our new Christmas bauble sat centre place in our tree from the Rose’s / Freeland’s from their recently trip to Disney World. I think we will be adding more to collection when we go there in August this year.

Christmas officially started for me when we attended the Rose’s household Christmas light switch on. They have some of the best Christmas lights I have ever seen. They decorate the whole of the outside of their house. Everyone sips on warm cider and enjoys the lights. Thanks for inviting us! It was a great night.

This was the first occasion I could wear my one of my many Christmas jumpers!

  

We had our family over for a mini Christmas, as we don’t get to see them on Christmas day. We made the traditional Christmas snacks. Amanda went wild and made some Christmas pudding chocolate balls. Leave me a comment if you want a blog post on how to make these.

  

On Christmas Eve, I had to work so I was already in Town. Matt came to meet me after I finished and we decided to get some lunch before we attended the panto which is our Christmas Eve tradition. I went for a starter, as I hadn’t eaten any lunch. I went for the halloumi. This was £5.50. You get a portion of halloumi cooked in breadcrumbs served with a garlic mayonnaise. The halloumi was lovely. The garlic mayonnaise was garlicky. I couldn’t eat it, but I would rate this 7/10.

  

On to the main, Matt went for the ribs, which are £14.50. This comes with a side of chips and coleslaw. They come covered in BBQ sauce. He didn’t really like these. He has had them there before and loved them. He thinks they may have changed the BBQ sauce, which they used. He would give this dish 5/10.

  

For my main, I went for the lamb koftas. These are £12.95. You get three koftas covered in sesame seeds, with some hummus, tzatziki and a piadina bread. These were nice. They weren’t as juicy and tasty as the ones I have had in the Anchor in Pyford though. At first I wasn’t too sure of the sesame seeds on the outside, gave them a crunchy texture. I would give this dish 6/10. I don’t think I would order this again.

  

We then went for a walk to waste time before we could go into the pantomime. This year it was sleeping beauty which stared Katie price AKA Jordan. She was actually quite good. We sat in a box on the side, which means we have our own space, which is good, but does mean you are sitting side on to the stage.

   

    
   
This was basically all of my festivities this year. I hope that I will be able to do a lot more next year and get excited by Christmas again. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.
