This is one of the best Chinese restaurants around this area. It is really good. Check out their reviews on trip advisor. Its value for money and the food quality is really good. In E&O (Eastern Oriental) you order the dishes you want and they bring enough for the whole table, so you get to get taste everything. It costs £16.95 per person for dinner. They have different prices for different times and days here. Me and Lacey went here after a long day at work so the service was really quick as it was fairly quiet.
We ordered 3 courses. To start we had a selection of starters which included chicken satays, sesame prawn toast, ribs, seaweed and spring rolls. This was great as we got to taste all different things, it’s a great little starter to get you ready for the main meals. I would give this 8/10. I love the satay sauce that comes with them, it’s got a touch of spice to it which is really nice.
We then got our 2nd course. Lacey got duck and I got lamb. This gets served with pancakes, cucumber, spring onions and hoi sin sauce. I really don’t like duck so it’s really good that they do lamb here. It’s really good. It’s all served shredding already so it’s really easy to make your own pancakes. This way you can put exactly how much of each thing in the pancakes. I would give this 6/10.
Then we got to the real thing. By this point you are normally pretty filled up, but it’s the best bit. We ordered, sweet and sour chicken, mixed vegetables, chow mein, egg fried rice and sizzling chicken in satay sauce. These are all amazing. I wanted the mushrooms as well but I didn’t want to be too greedy. The vegetables are really good with the sauce from the satay chicken. I would give these 9/10.
The restaurant is really nice with quirky bits of art on the wall and a pond outside too. The lighting is dark enough that it’s got a good atmosphere (and no one notices if you spill noodles down you) but bright enough that you can see what you are eating. They do special offers early bird offers too for lunch. It gets busy so get in there early or try and book a table.
