I don’t like making a song and dance because it’s my birthday. I booked the weekend off from work so we decided to go out for breakfast. Shock my birthday weekend would all be about food. We headed to Bills in Woking for a bit of breakfast. I have done a bill breakfast blog before (click here to read it) so I won’t go in to, too much detail now. We all had something different. I went for the full English breakfast.
Dad went for scrambled egg on toast.
Amanda went for the bread basket.
Mum went for eggs benedict.
Matt went for a sausage sandwich.
Whilst we ate our breakfast we planned what to do for Christmas Eve. Me and Matt have a tradition and go to Woking panto on Christmas Eve. We have now convinced, mum, dad and Amanda to come along too. We got it all booked up. It’s quite expensive this year, it was £55. This year it’s Sleeping Beauty, guest starting Katie Price.
We then back home and chilled out, planning what to do for dinner tonight. We have all wanted to try an Indian restaurant near us called Indos so we thought this would be a great chance. We booked a table as there was 5 of us. We walked into the restaurant and it was packed. Gill and her family even had a table. It seemed everyone had the same idea to head out for an Indian.
The best bit about the Indian, popadoms! They are my favourite bit. I love dipping them in the mint sauce. I try to save some to have with my main but I normally gobble them all. I have written a post on how to make your own mint sauce, read it by clicking here.
We all ordered starters. I went for tikka kebab platter. This is £5.95 and you get pieces of chicken tikka, lamb tikka and sheek kebab. This was really good. I love getting a selection of things. Matt also got this, we all shared this between us.
Dad ordered some onion and sweetcorn bharji. This was £3.50. This came as four small flat bharjis served on some salad.
On to the mains. I got chicken tikka masala. I always order this when we get a takeaway. This was really nice. We have ordered a takeaway from here before but not eaten in, it always tastes so much better, when eating in. Dad and Matt got this dish too. I think we shared 3 rice dishes between the 5 of us, and we got a Bombay potatoes.
Mum got tandoori chicken. This looked really good if you like chicken on the bone.
This was a lovely meal. I still want to go here on a Sunday where it’s a buffet all you can eat for £9.95. This is available from 12 – 10pm so all day which is really good. Maybe I will try this next weekend!
This was all Saturday! We did eat quite a lot thinking about it, but hey, you are only 28 once! On Sunday I really fancied a roast dinner. We left it too late, any most places were booked up. I really want to try, Penny Hill Park, The Inn at Maybury and the Drummond to have a Sunday roast. We went to The Village hotel in Farnborough. It’s a Sunday carvery for only £14.95 per person. Which is great price, considering all the food you get to choose from. I’ve done a blog post on this before, click here to read it.
We then went to Costco, hugged all the big cuddly bears, played with the TV’s,tasted all the free samples, wondered round all the Christmas decorations and dribbled about all the yummy looking puddings.
Overall I had a lovely birthday weekend!
